Speciality Doctor Community Paediatrics

• The Specialty Doctor is responsible to the Consultants in Community Paediatrics. In his/her work, the jobholder liaises with other healthcare professionals within and outside of Community Paediatric team in day-to-day care for paediatric patients and their families.
• Assess, diagnose and manage children and young people with developmental, behavioral, neurodevelopmental, and complex health needs in community settings
• Run community paediatric clinics for developmental concerns, neurodisability and chronic health conditions under consultant supervision and within agreed competences.
• Contribute to neurodevelopmental assessments for autism spectrum disorder in line with current pathways.
• Undertake initial health assessments for looked after children and support care planning.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Provide medical advice and support for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including contribution to educational health and care plans (EHCP)
• Maintain accurate clinical records, prepare reports, and contribute to statutory documentation and professional communication.
• Participate in clinical governance, audit, quality improvements, and service developmental activities.
• Support teaching, supervision, and training of junior colleagues and contribute ti continuing professional development.
