The role includes working both in the Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) pathway and a general adolescent inpatient unit.
You will undertake comprehensive nutritional assessments to develop individualised nutrition care plans and work autononmously to review and monitor risk and progress.
You will contribute to audit and quality improvement initiatives, as well as research projects, to enhance both your own practice and that of the wider clinical team. You will also be involved in reviewing and developing patient information resources.
You will support the delivery of family-based interventions for children and young people, working collaboratively with families and the wider multidisciplinary team.
In addition, you will provide nutritional support for patients requiring enteral feeding and participate in meal support and meal modelling within the inpatient setting.
- Provide high-quality, individualised nutrition and dietetic assessments and treatment.
- Manage an autonomous caseload and defined service area, seeking senior support when required.
- Organise and prioritise workload according to patient and service needs.
- Manage clinical risk, consent, confidentiality, records and activity data in line with professional and Trust requirements.
- Maintain professional competence through CPD and reflective practice.
- Work within relevant Trust, national and professional guidelines and legal frameworks.
- Contribute to audit, research, service development and evidence-based practice.
- Review and produce nutrition and dietetic resources.
- Plan and deliver training and education sessions.
- Work collaboratively as an integrated member of the Nutrition and Dietetic Service.
