We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Specialist in CT to provide clinical leadership and operational management of the CT service within Radiology, ensuring the delivery of a safe, efficient, high-quality and patient-centred imaging service.
Key responsibilities include leading the day-to-day operation of the CT service, managing workflow and patient pathways, and maintaining high standards of care. The post holder will provide professional leadership, supervision, appraisal, training and development for CT staff, supporting workforce capability and service resilience.
The role involves performing and overseeing a range of routine and specialist CT examinations, including the administration of contrast agents, and acting as an Operator and Justifier under IR(ME)R. Working closely with Consultant Radiologists, Imaging Physicists and multidisciplinary teams, the post holder will support protocol optimisation, service improvement and regulatory compliance.
Additional responsibilities include supporting quality assurance, clinical governance, risk management, audit and accreditation activities, providing specialist advice to patients and clinicians, contributing to service development, and supporting the education and development of radiography staff and students.

Qualifications
Essential
- DCR/BSc
- State Registered Diagnostic Radiographer
- Post Graduate qualification or equivalent level of knowledge in CT
- Completed the course in IV cannulation and the injection of Contrast Agents under PGD (Patient Group Directive)
Desirable: - Leadership/management training
Knowledge and expertise
Essential
- Wide ranging knowledge of CT protocols and procedures
- Evidence of ability to manage
- Computer literate - Windows, Microsoft Office and other software applications
Desirable: - Experience of Clinical Trials/Research; - Proven knowledge in Oncology
Experience
Essential: - Proven experience of a wide range of CT procedures; - Proven track record of performance, delivering to time scales, high quality work
Desirable: - Leadership / management experience
