The post holder will work with the Cervical Screening Wales (CSW) Clinical Lead, Lead Nurse Specialist, Cervical Screening Administration Department Manager and Regional Programme Manager to enhance and maintain the clinical quality of the cervical screening programme, by managing and resolving clinical issues and queries, and through the education, support and development of cervical screening sample takers. The post holder may be required to work across the Screening Division. The post holder will be expected to:
1. Make clinical decisions in conjunction with the Lead Nurse Specialist and act on issues relating to cervical screening
2. Work with the Lead Nurse Specialist to lead on the implementation of the cervical screening programme locally, including liaison with senior staff in Health Boards, general practices and the general public and coordinate with other teams within Wales
3. To work clinically and maintain clinical skills and competencies including sample taking
4. Be a point of contact for participant clinical queries
5. To act in a supporting and developing role with health professionals within the programme through education and training, including maintaining the educational course content, e-learning and attendance databases

Qualifications
Essential
- RGN 1st Level Registration with NMC
- 1st Level degree relevant to clinical practice
- Recognised cervical screening training
- Teaching and assessing or equivalent qualification
Desirable: - Experience of working in women's health; - Counselling certificate; - Masters Degree, health related; - Nurse Colposcopist accreditation
Experience
Essential
- Experienced nurse with extensive post basic training
- Demonstrable experience of working within cervical screening
- Demonstrate working with audit and participation in Research and Development
- Be able to deliver presentations / train multi professional groups
Desirable
- Experience of coordinating work across professional and organisational boundaries
- Managerial abilities
- Computer literate
- Evidence of research or dissemination of evidence based practice
