The post holder is responsible for the evidence based assessment of care needs, the development of programmes of care, the implementation and evaluation of those programmes of care. The post holder is expected to carry out all relevant forms of care without supervision, and to assist with training, supervision and mentorship of qualified and unqualified staff, under the guidance of senior colleagues.
The post holder will need to communicate effectively with and work alongside all members of the multi professional team, children and their families to promote and support the evidence based development of nursing practice.

Education and Training
Essential
- Registered Nurse with professional registration and NMC pin.
- Educated to degree level in nursing or equivalent experience
- Completion of a Practice Supervisor programme
- Practice Assessor qualification or working towards
- Evidence of Continuous Professional Development.
Desirable: - Post graduate teaching qualification.; - Neonatal QIS; - BFI Training
Experience
Essential: - Previous Health care Experience
Desirable: - Experience of working in a neonatal environment
Knowledge and skills
Essential
- Good communication skills both written and verbal.
- Digital Literacy and ability to use NHS IT systems.
- Able to prioritise and manage workload
- Ability to support junior staff within the team
- Competent in IV administration or working towards
- Knowledge of safeguarding children
- Knowledge of infection control.
Desirable: - Teaching skills; - Good understanding of FI care; - Knowledge of NHS policies, procedures, and clinical governance frameworks
