  • To work as part of the EPR programme to ensure that patient related data held within the Trust is accurate.
  • and complete to enable reliable and robust reporting to support clinical and business processes, statutory information and income generation.

  • As a member of the Data Quality Team, support the trust in meeting the data requirements of clinicians, hospital managers, commissioners and Trust board.
  • To Identify and report anomalies in data and ensure that any errors are corrected at source.
  • To work as part of the EPR programme to ensure that patient related data held within the Trust is accurate
  • and complete to enable reliable and robust reporting to support clinical and business processes, statutory information and income generation.
  • Providing training, mentoring and coaching as required to groups.
  • Provide training, mentoring and coaching on a one-to-one basis if required.
  • Identify data quality issues and ensure that departments are made aware of them in a timely manner in line with national deadlines.
  • To audit the accuracy and completeness of data held on Lorenzo and other trust systems ensuring that they are properly completed, and data quality standards are maintained in line with Information Governance requirements.
  • To identify areas where the quality of data and or working practices require audit and help promote awareness of the importance of clinical data.
  • To support the Clinic Coding and Information Departments to ensure that targets and quality standards are maintained within the agreed deadlines.
  • To provide Data Quality training and awareness sessions as required based on service needs.
  • To undertake Referral to Treatment (RTT) Validation, ensuring that patients on an RTT pathway have the correct RTT outcome. Chasing the outcome when necessary.
  • Provide information to enable patients to be managed more effectively through their 18-week pathway.
  • To close referrals when required for any patient showing on an RTT pathway that has been identified as a stopped pathway, ensuring that the correct pathway has been identified.
  • Act independently guided by the principles and operational framework of the Trusts Access Policy and national and local 18 Weeks Guidance.
  • To provide and receive complex information and communicate statistical matters/system changes to non-analytical professionals
  • Be responsible for adapting and improving local information systems and procedures around data collection, input, audit and analysis so they continue to meet the needs of the trust.
  • Extract data using online reports and analyse with Excel.
  • To ensure Data Validation is complete within timescales to meet Trust and SUS deadlines.
  • To resolve any queries relating to data quality at source.
  • Be aware of and communicate any data changes and any software enhancements that will affect the quality of data.
  • Participate in team, professional and personal development activities and promote a commitment to continuous development and improvement.
  • To participate and support all operational managers, users and developers in improving data quality encouraging decision making and action planning to resolve complex data and system issues and evaluating the effectiveness of such actions.
  • Work with the IT trainers to provide support for new and existing members of staff.
  • Working with the Senior Data Quality officer, monitor the Teams performance against Trust and NHS England Targets.
  • Act independently to manage own workload, ensuring that issues are dealt with in a timely manner, identifying any problems and liaising with Trust managers as appropriate, ensuring that final reports or responses are provided in a timely manner.

Experience and Knowledge

Essential: - Previous office experience; - Dealing with a wide range of data elements; - Use of Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Desirable

  • Previous work within an NHS environment
  • Experience of working with a wide range of staff at all levels
  • Knowledge of patient pathway from referral to discharge

Qualification(s) and Professional Training

Essential: - Good general education to GCSE level with Mathematics and English; - Evidence of continuing personal development

Desirable: - International Certification of Digital Literacy (I.C.D.L) or further IT Training; - NVQ Level 2

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent key board skills
  • Ability to generate an analyse reports from databases
  • Investigative and analytical approach/experience
  • Able to establish rapport and foster working relationships with a wide range of staff groups
