CT/MRI Radiographer

The post holder will join the cross-sectional team in developing and sustaining a high quality and responsive 7 day CT and MRI service. Participation in the CT night shift rota is a requirement. Travel to community sites is required.

The post holder will be expected to

Provide a CT / MRI service to inpatients, outpatients, private patients and ED patients.

Provide clinical knowledge and expertise to ensure the appropriate triage, booking and examination of patients for cross sectional imaging.

To have advanced level CT and or MRI skills to undertake highly specialised and complex imaging techniques.

To act as deputy to the cross-sectional lead radiographers if required,

Maintain a high level of professionalism and high standard of technical work, complying with the relevant code of practice.

Supervise and mentor students and staff offering expert training and advice to other members of the team.

Participate in and coordinate QC, audit and research within the cross-sectional departments.

Actively work with the cross-sectional lead Radiographers to identify areas for service improvement and efficiency.

To work a flexible shift system to cover 24 hours, 7 days per week.

To cover general x-ray department out of hours when required

Perform high quality diagnostic x-rays when required.

To actively participate in the Quality Standard for Imaging accreditation scheme

Qualifications

Essential: - HCPC registration; - BSc diagnostic radiography

Desirable: - Post graduate training or extensive experience in a specialist field.

Desirable: - Ability to act as Deputy to the MRI/CT Lead in their absence; - Ability to participate in CPD training sessions by delivering training
