Consultant Radiologist with Musculoskeletal (MSK) Interest

The successful candidate will join our existing team of 10 MSK Radiologists providing services across our 3 major acute sites and CDCs.

The MSK radiology team provides diagnostic and interventional support to a large number of surgical and medical colleagues in teams across the trust. This includes:

The successful applicant should be competent at reporting MSK CT, USS radiographs and MR, and competent with MSK intervention including USS guided injections and arthrograms. Experience of soft tissue and bone biopsies is desirable. The successful candidate should have experience of leading and presenting in MSK MDTs.

Acute & On-Call Radiology

The role has a general component with the successful applicant required to support a session general acute CT and 0.5 PA for diagnostic On-call.

Qualifications

Desirable: - Post Graduate Degree or Diploma

Experience

Essential: - Evidence of training in core radiology (UK CCT or equivalent); - Evidence of training in MSK radiology

Desirable: - Musculoskeletal Radiology fellowship

Clinical and Technical Skills

Desirable: - Experience of whole body MR imaging in genetic disorders (e.g. NF1); - Experience in advanced MSK interventional techniques e.g. soft tissue/bone ablation

Communication Skills

Essential: - Excellent team working skills; - Fluent English speaker

Research

Essential: - Knowledge of research design, protocols and desire to be involved with research projects

Desirable: - Peer review publications

Motivation

Essential: - Highly motivated with an appetite to lead and make changes to services

Essential: - Ability to work well with the radiology team and within the multidisciplinary team; - Self-motivated and good problem-solving abilities
