Location

The Consultant Gastroenterologist will be responsible for service delivery across the whole Trust, therefore cross site working over 3 sites is required. The service provides inpatient Gastroenterology in Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital and the Royal Hampshire County Hospital. There are fully equipped and JAG accredited Endoscopy suites at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital, Andover War Memorial Hospital and North Hampshire Hospital with bowel cancer screening, ERCP, EUS and a range of interventional procedures. Outpatient clinics are undertaken in all of the Trust's 3 sites in addition to at Alton Community Hospital.

There is full secretarial support with an administration team consisting of a Speciality Co-ordinator (Gastroenterology) and support staff based in both Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital and the Royal Hampshire County Hospital sites. Each Consultant has dedicated office space and supporting IT.

Management

The Trust has three Clinical Divisions, each managed by a Medical Director (Senior Clinician). This role is supported by a full time Operational Service Manager and a full time management accountant.
