An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic Occupational Therapy (OT) team within Woking Neighbourhood Mental Health Services. We are seeki...

  • To provide high quality and evidence based occupational therapy assessment and interventions (group and individual) to people who access services and their carers/supporters/family members, in line with the occupational therapy.
  • To communicate effectively with people who access services, carers, the multi-disciplinary team and when appropriate outside agencies.
  • To contribute to the generic functioning of the team.
  • To contribute to occupational therapy student placements.
  • To participate in service development and audits.
  • To take on the role of lead professional as appropriate.

Qualifications

Essential

  • HCPC Registration
  • Occupational Therapy degree or equivalent

Desirable

  • Band 6 - Additionally Completion of Fieldwork educators' course

Experience

Essential

  • Experience working with people with mental health and or Learning Disabilities (can be pre-qualification)
  • Knowledge of occupational frames of reference and approaches
  • Knowledge of relevant assessment and treatment models
  • Knowledge of the impact of health and disability on occupational performance, participation and identity
  • Interest and skills in specialist area

Desirable

  • Band 6- Experience of contributing to service development/project work
  • Band 6- Experience as a supervisor
  • Band 6- Experience of group facilitation
  • Band 6- Experience of supporting students on placement

  • Subject to reasonable adjustments in respect of any disability, candidates must possess a valid driving licence and be able to drive and have the unrestricted use of a car or motorcycle for work at all times including community based work.
