As a member of the multidisciplinary team the post-holder will be required to meet the identified occupational and functional needs of service users on their caseload. This includes providing a variety of person-centred assessments and interventions, promoting a recovery approach and social inclusion, to maximise activity of daily living skills and lifestyle management.
The post-holder will ensure that their practice meets the requirements of this clinical group and assess the needs of service users with complex mental and physical health needs. This includes falls risk minimisation work and the issuing and provision of equipment, aids and minor adaptations.
The post holder will have supervisory responsibility for junior staff and student practitioners working in the unit. They work will receive supervision and mentoring from the PICU OT Clinical Lead.
Although staff are allocated initially to work in one specific ward, all appointments are made to the Therapy Department

In order to meet the needs of the Trust you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey or Islington. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.

Essential
- Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy or Sports science
- HCPC registration
Desirable
- Completed specialist training such as KUF, care certificate or similar
Clinical Skills
Essential
- Experience of working in mental health
- Experience of using IT and digital tool
- Demonstrating ability to work flexibly
- Experience of undertaking specialist clinical assessment in the acute mental health field
- Experience of running groups and individual session
Desirable
- Ability to manage and prioritise own workload and support junior staff in effective time management
Communication
Essential
- Demonstrates ability to communicate in written form
- Experience of MDT working
Desirable
- Bilingual
