  • Overseeing governance and assurance systems, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory frameworks.
  • Coordinating high-quality incident investigations under PSIRF and ensuring meaningful learning is embedded.
  • Producing investigation reports (AAR and PSII level) in line with the expectations of the Trust embedding of PSIRF.
  • Leading on the analysis of complex data to identify trends, highlight risks, and inform strategic priorities.
  • Delivering specialist training and education programmes to strengthen organisational capability in governance and patient safety.
  • Supporting workforce development through visible leadership, effective communication, and fostering psychological safety.
  • Keeping abreast of emerging best practice, research, and innovation to advance governance and quality standards.
  • Managing complex and sensitive information with professionalism, empathy, and clarity.
  • Contributing to research, audit, evaluation, and quality improvement projects at service, Trust, and system levels

Professional qualification

Essential

  • NMC, HCPC or Social Work England
  • Educated to Masters level or equivalent level qualification/experience
  • Evidence of ongoing post-registration education in a related field; eg enhanced risk assessment skills
  • Evidence of ability to utilise and develop report writing

Desirable

  • Up to date knowledge and application of: data protection, patient confidentiality, risk management, health & safety, safeguarding. extensive and up to date working knowledge of, the principles of change management
  • Significant post-registration experience
  • Managerial/operational experience at senior level

Written and veral

Essential

  • Evidence of analytical skills
  • Evidence of excellent organisational skills. Prioritises complex workloads
  • Ability to use own initiative in complex situations

Desirable

  • Ability to effect change in a positive manner
