The successful candidate will gain experience and receive training in all aspects of pharmacy practice by participating in a structured programme which incorporates various rotations (see applicant pack), plus study for the General Practice Diploma.

You will be committed to your own education and training and will supervise and check the work of pharmacy technicians, pharmacy assistants and other staff, as required.

The post holder will allocate, supervise and check the work of pharmacy technicians, pharmacy assistants and other staff, as required.

You will also give professional advice on pharmaceutical matters to medical, nursing and other professional staff.

Previous Experience

Essential

  • UK pharmacy experience

Desirable

  • Recent Hospital experience
  • Hospital Foundation trainee

Qualifications/Training

Essential

  • Masters Degree MPharm (or equivalent)
  • Competency assessed and examined professional registration with the GPhC
  • Mandatory CPD to maintain fitness to practice
  • Able to undertake Diploma in Pharmacy Practice and independent prescribing course

Skills

Essential

  • Able to communicate clearly, verbally and electronically

Knowledge

Essential

  • Good Basic Clinical pharmacy knowledge
  • Able to apply clinical knowledge at consultant level
