Job description

We are seeking a motivated and experienced clinician to join Somerset NHS Foundation Trust as an IMT3 / ST3--4 equivalent in Respiratory Medicine at Y...

Work as a Tier 2 registrar-level clinician in Respiratory Medicine

Provide senior clinical decision-making for patients on respiratory wards and acute take

Participate in General Internal Medicine on-call rota (approx. 1:13) including nights, weekends, and long days

Supervise junior doctors and provide teaching, support, and feedback

Perform core procedures including

  • Chest aspiration and drain insertion
  • Lumbar puncture
  • Ascitic paracentesis
  • Cardioversion
  • Contribute to ward rounds, clinical reviews, and multidisciplinary working
  • Optional involvement in frailty front door services and stroke rotation

Qualifications

Essential

  • GMC registration with licence to practise
  • RCUK ALS certification
  • MRCP Part 1

Desirable

  • MRCP Part 2 & PACES
  • Additional postgraduate qualification

Experience

Essential

  • Minimum 4 years' NHS experience
  • Completion of Core Internal Medicine Training (or equivalent)
  • Experience in acute internal medicine

Desirable

  • Experience working at IMT3/ST3 level
