Deliver a comprehensive orientation and induction programme for qualified nursing staff, Allied Health Professionals, assistant practitioners and Health Care Assistants, acting as a clinical role model, working collaboratively to develop and deliver an ongoing programme of training and education for the theatre departments. Contribute to the development of department policies, guidelines and scope of nursing practice.
To be a clinical expert in all levels of Theatre priniciples and to provide "hands on" supervision of staff in clinical practice to promote the acquisition of new skills and knowledge
In conjunction with team leaders and clinical staff of the departments, be responsible for the assessment, supervision and development of all members of the nursing team. To undertake audits and reviews of practice and policies within the unit.

Qualifications
Essential
- First level Registered Nurse / ODP with active registration.
- Educated to degree level in relevant subject area
- Recognised training or teaching qualification or equivalent experience
- Specialist post registration certificate in clinical speciality or equivalent
- Coaching or mentoring qualification
Desirable: - Leadership certificate or equivalent.; - Masters level study in a relevant subject or equivalent experience
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Extensive clinical practice in the perioperative setting
- Well-developed leadership skills
- Mentoring, coaching and clinical supervision
- Monitoring and setting standards
- Contributing to the development of Trust policies.
- Change management experience
- Experience of working within a clinical environment across a range of different settings
- Experience of designing, delivering and evaluating learning programmes for diverse staff groups
- Evidence of developing training packages (online and/or face to face)
- Experience of working with groups and individuals from all backgrounds, across all disciplines in a variety of roles and settings
- Experience of supporting learners and providing guidance to staff and managers regarding learning
- Knowledge of professional requirements related to supporting learners in practice e.g. from NMC and HCPC or other professional bodies
- Knowledge of career pathways and practice development initiatives relevant to the health & social care sector
Desirable: - Knowledge of Registered Qualifications Framework and Awarding Body Centre requirements
