Main duties will include
- Venepuncture
- Cannulation
- ECG recording
- Baseline observations
- Urine sampling
- Record keeping
- Transfers
- Monitoring patients
- Catheterisation
- VBG testing
- Blood sugar monitoring
- Stocking and cleaning

QUALIFICATIONS
Essential: - NVQ 2 and willingness to undertake NVQ3
Desirable: - NVQ 3
EXPERIENCE
Essential: - Experience as a Healthcare Assistant in a hospital setting
SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES
Essential
- Ability to communicate in a variety of settings with patients of varying levels of understanding.
- Ability to present factual information and refer questions to others where appropriate.
- Ability to use own initiative
- Team player
- An understanding of the organisation of nursing care
- Ability to prioritise
- Basic I.T. skills
- Basic understanding of NHS issues.
- Possess enthusiasm and motivation
- Carry out advanced clinical interventions as delegated by RGN and as agreed by local Protocols.
- Ability to work autonomously whilst under supervision
- Good attendance record
- Able to perform a wide range of duties
Desirable: - ECG Recordings; - Experienced in use of Maxims, Cyberlab, PACS system and Nexus (Base Tracker) systems; - Venepuncture skills; - Basic Observations
