Children's Diabetes Specialist Nurse

• It will be necessary to work flexibly across a caseload of patients across both the hospital and community setting for local patients and to provide expert advice to other health care professionals and initiate guidelines based therapies that address acute management issues for diabetes
• The post holder will contribute to the development of evidence based clinical nursing practice in line with current research and guidelines and will participate in audit.
• The post holder will work across organisational, regional and national boundaries and form good working relationships with colleagues within the regional diabetes network.

• RN Child/RSCN
• NMC Registered
• Current practice assessor and supervisor on the live database
• Evidence of ongoing continuing professional development

• Teaching and Assessing qualification/mentorship course

• 1st Level degree or equivalent in nursing or health related subject
• Diabetes Qualification or equivalent specialist knowledge/willingness to undertake training
• Counselling qualification

• Significant experience of caring for children and young people with Diabetes
