To provide professional and clinical input to the pharmaceutical services in all relevant areas of the pharmacy department on a rotational basis. The successful candidate(s) will complete a comprehensive training programme in these rotations: patient services, renal, acute medicine, surgical, HIV services, manufacturing services and medicines information.
All post holders will undertake a post-graduate diploma within the first year of employment supported by an internal structured training and mentorship programme.
Key duties of the role include
Provision of a comprehensive clinical pharmacy service for the Royal Free London hospital you are appointed to work atProvision of screening, dispensing, and checking services through the main or satellite dispensariesProvision of medicines advice to other health professionals and patientsProvision of a technical pharmacy service including final product releaseOpportunities to partake in audits, service improvement, high-cost drug applications and drug usage reviews as you progress through your training
Annual leave starts at 27 days a year plus bank holidays.
You will also be expected to participate in the out of hours, weekend and bank holiday service including responsibility for the securing of the department. Outside of working hours the on-call pharmacist is solely responsible for providing a pharmacy service to the hospital including advice on medicines and emergency supply.

Education & professional Qualifications
Essential
- Masters degree in pharmacy (or equivalent)
- GPhC (GB) registration
Experience
Essential
- Comprehensive foundation training year
- Experience of screening, dispensing and checking prescriptions
- Experience of medication counselling
Desirable
- Hospital experience

- Good clinical decision making and patient prioritisation skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage time effectively
