Assisting the Data and Outcomes Analyst and Consultants within the PICU team with the maintenance of the unit and PICANet databases and developing a w...

  • Collecting and uploading PICANet data in accordance with PICANet timely submission and data quality standards.
  • Assisting in the co-ordination and development of robust data collection and validation mechanisms
  • Ensuring the timely production of reports and analysis when required.
  • Ensuring that all data is kept securely and to maintain the confidentiality of staff and patients at all times

  • Maintain, input and update PICANet databases specific for the service.
  • Ensure timely submission of quarterly reports or as required.
  • Validate and upload data internally and externally as required, maintaining data integrity and security
  • Coordinate PICANet data validation visits and support the coordination of other data validation visits as required.
  • Maintain, input and update all local databases.
  • Generate database reports for the team to maintain trust data flows.
  • Collating and entering data to assist in research, audit and clinical governance projects, both local and nationally led.
  • Producing reports from the database as requested to monitor capacity, treatment pathways and policy compliance.
  • Monitoring data quality and compliance with quality assurance indicators
  • Developing a working knowledge of all the software packages used within the EMCHC /PICU service, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • With the support of Clinicians and Clinical Nurse Specialists, monitoring the audit trail of patient information ensuring confidentiality is maintained.

Training & Qualifications

Essential

  • GCSE English Language & Maths Grade C (or equivalent)
  • OCR III (including Excel and Access) or equivalent

Desirable

  • GNVQ ICT (or equivalent)

Experience

  • Experience of using spread sheets/database/software packages, e.g. Microsoft Excel
