You will work as part of the Walsall CAMHS multidisciplinary team, supporting the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based psychological care to children, young people and their families. Working under the clinical supervision of a qualified Applied Psychologist, you will assist with psychological assessments, formulation-informed interventions and the delivery of psychologically informed care.

The role will involve supporting individual and group interventions, gathering and analysing clinical information and outcome measures, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to the development of resources for young people, families and professionals. You will also assist with service evaluation, audit, research and quality improvement projects to support the ongoing development of CAMHS services.

Working closely with psychologists and other professionals, you will contribute to a compassionate, person-centred approach, helping to improve outcomes and experiences for children and young people accessing mental health services. You will participate in regular supervision, training and reflective practice and will have opportunities to develop their clinical, research and professional skills within a supportive and innovative service.

This post provides excellent experience for psychology graduates seeking to develop their knowledge and skills within a specialist CAMHS setting and pursue a future career in Applied Psychology.

  • Support qualified Applied Psychologists in the assessment, formulation and delivery of psychological interventions for children, young people and families accessing CAMHS.

  • Assist with the preparation of reports, presentations and data summaries to support service development.
  • Work collaboratively with psychologists and multidisciplinary colleagues to promote psychologically informed care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in line with Trust policies and professional standards.
  • Communicate effectively and compassionately with children, young people, families and partner agencies.
  • Participate in regular supervision, training and reflective practice to support personal and professional development.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience within a specialist CAMHS setting while contributing to high-quality care and positive outcomes for children, young people and their families.

At Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, we are committed to delivering outstanding, compassionate care and improving the lives of the communities we serve.
