The Assistant Directorate Manager (ADM) provides operational and project management support across the Medicine Directorate, working closely with the Directorate Manager and Deputy Directorate Managers to deliver safe, effective and high-quality services.The post holder will play a key role in supporting the operational management of inpatient and outpatient services, ensuring delivery of national and local performance standards, service improvement programmes, workforce management and governance processes.The post holder will work collaboratively with clinical, nursing and corporate colleagues to support service transformation, optimise patient pathways, improve operational performance and contribute to the achievement of the Directorate's strategic objectives.The Assistant Directorate Manager will have responsibility for managing defined workstreams and projects, providing operational leadership where appropriate and deputising for senior managers when required.

Essential: - Degree or equivalent experience in management, healthcare or business

- Knowledge of NHS operational management
- Understanding of NHS performance standards and constitutional targets
- Knowledge of outpatient pathways and patient access standards
Desirable
- Understanding of clinical governance and risk management
- Knowledge of medical workforce processes
- Knowledge of service improvement methodologies
- Knowledge of Cancer Waiting Times standards
- Knowledge of Patient Initiated Follow-Up (PIFU) pathways
