Apprentice Healthcare Science Associate

The post holder is expected to have good IT skills, telephone manners, a flexible approach to working, good manual skills and work with automated equipment to assist Biomedical Scientists in their routine work.

Most apprenticeship programmes in the UK are government-funded. To qualify for this funding, you must have been ordinarily resident in the UK for at least three years before starting the apprenticeship. Knowledge and Skills

Desirable: - Knowledge of Quality Control systems; - Experience of automated and semi-automated analysers

Qualifications

Essential: - 5 GCSE's level education including a Science GCSE; - NVQ Level 2

Desirable: - Working towards NVQ level 3; - IBMS certificate of competence level 1

Experience

Essential: - Previous laboratory experience.; - Understanding of Health and Safety issues

Desirable: - NHS laboratory experience
