Advanced Practitioner Radiographer - CT

To act as a highly skilled specialist in the radiographic area of CT scanning and as such be accountable for your own actions

To have an active role in research, audit and clinical governance within Radiology.

To work unsupervised as the sole lead practitioner to provide a timely and diagnostic CT study.

To be competent to perform IV cannulation on a broad range of patients. To safely administer contrast agents using high pressure injectors.

To have an active role in the training of all staff in CT scanning (including students training at masters level).

To work broadly according to evidence based practice protocols developed within the department for a range of CT examinations without work being checked or supervised.

To provide medicines to patients safely under a PGD.

Experience

Essential: - General Radiographic training including a wide range of CT experience; - Experience of Intravenous Cannulation of a broad range of patients

Skills

Essential: - Experience with RIS/PACS.; - Able to encourage team working/team building in a wide range of situations.

Desirable: - Evidence of supervisory/managerial experience; - Evidence of multi disciplinary working

Knowledge

Essential: - Understanding of Information Governance and Confidentiality; - Evidence of ongoing CPD

Desirable: - Radiation Protection Supervisor for CT
