The postholder will independently assess, diagnose, treat and discharge patients presenting with minor illness within a busy urgent care setting. The role requires advanced clinical reasoning and independent prescribing, with responsibility for recognising red flags, managing clinical risk and escalating concerns appropriately. The postholder will support effective patient flow while contributing to a culture of safety, quality and collaborative multidisciplinary working.

Additional information

  • Working Pattern: 12-hour shifts (08:00-20:00) on a 7-day rolling rota. The full-time equivalent is 40 hours per week; however, any hours offered must be in multiples of 12.

Qualifications

Essential

  • MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or Relevant ACP courses at Level 7 including recognised modules in Advanced Physical Assessment Skills, Minor IIlness, Disease Management, etc.
  • Independent / Non-Medical Prescriber (V300)
  • Current NMC registration with no restrictions

Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience in urgent care and/or primary care
  • Confident, autonomous management of minor illness
