To undertake a range of clerical & administration duties within the Cancer Genetics Unit in a sensitive and polite manner whilst providing a comprehensive & efficient clerical service to patients and clinical staff within the Trust.

To answer all telephone calls into the Unit from both NHS & private patients and professional staff in a helpful, professional and courteous manner and to ensure all calls are dealt with politely and efficiently and rerouted where appropriate.
- Deal with departmental correspondence in an efficient, timely and appropriate manner, printing & posting correspondence, collecting and distributing incoming and outgoing mail and to monitor generic email inboxes, as well as own email inboxes.
- To receive and send email on behalf of the Teams/Service.
- To take appropriate messages, recording details accurately.
- To use initiative to deal with queries/problems from NHS & private patients before informing the Line Manager.
- Provide clerical support for NHS & private Clinics.
- To assist with preparation of all necessary NHS & private Clinic documents ahead of Clinics.
- To provide a scanning & uploading service for all documents and ensure they are accurately recorded.

Education/Qualifications
Essential
- Good standard of general education to GCSE level, to include English & Mathematics qualifications
- Advanced keyboard/computer skills, a fluent user of Microsoft packages, especially Outlook
Desirable: - Knowledge of computerised databases & patient information systems, preferably Connect EPIC
Experience
Essential
- Experience of working as part of an Administrative Team in a hospital/healthcare environment
- Experience of taking professional, accurate minutes of meetings and producing minutes documentation
- Experience of scanning & filing documentation, electronic & physical formats
