We are looking for an Administrator to work within the Croydon 0-19 Public Health Nursing Service (PHN), providing comprehensive, high-quality administrative support to the service.

Attention to detail and the ability to accurately update databases are essential requirements for this role as well as excellent communication skills. We are seeking applicants who can demonstrate a methodical and logical approach to work. The post holder will be required to work to deadlines and manage priorities within a busy office environment. As priorities can change, a flexible approach and the ability to use initiative are essential.

The post holder will be required to coordinate their activities with other members of the 0-19 Public Health Nursing Administration Team, including providing cover for colleagues when required. Therefore, a team-oriented approach is essential to ensure an efficient, professional and confidential service is delivered at all times.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in a secretarial / administrative role in the NHS or similar environment
  • Experience of using a range of office systems and software
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant software packages
  • Understand the importance of confidentiality
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills combined with an effective and courteous telephone manner
  • Demonstrate honesty and integrity. Working within the Trust values. To portray a professional image at all times
  • Ability to use own initiative. Enthusiasm and willingness to learn
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible within the Teams structure

Desirable

  • Experience with EMIS
  • Experience of working in a Public Health Nursing environment
  • Working knowledge of NHS procedures
  • Experience of working in a safeguarding environment

Education

Essential

  • GCSE English and Maths

Desirable

  • NVQ Level 3 Secretarial or Administrative qualification or equivalent qualification
