Are you an experienced Advanced Clinical Practitioner looking for an exciting leadership opportunity within Urgent Care? We are seeking an enthusiasti...
- Provide visible clinical leadership across both weekday and out-of-hours services, including evening and weekend clinical shifts within the Primary Care Centre.
- Maintain regular autonomous clinical practice, assessing, diagnosing and managing patients with minor illness and urgent care needs.
- Lead recruitment, appraisal, supervision and professional development of multidisciplinary staff.
- Oversee clinical governance, risk management, patient safety, incident investigations and quality improvement activity.
- Lead medicines management, prescribing governance and medication safety initiatives.
- Support the development and governance of Advanced Clinical Practitioners.
- Analyse service performance data and implement improvements to enhance patient outcomes and operational effectiveness.
- Work collaboratively with operational, governance and medical colleagues to drive service development and innovation.

Education, qualifications or training
Essential
- Registered General Nurse (NMC) or Registered Paramedic (HCPC).
- Master's degree in advanced clinical practice or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
- Recognised Advanced Clinical Practitioner qualification.
- Independent Prescriber qualification.
- Evidence of advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis and decision-making skills.
Desirable
- Leadership and management qualification or equivalent experience.
- Teaching, mentorship or clinical supervision qualification.
- IR(ME)R certification or equivalent radiation protection training (where role appropriate).
Continuous Professional Development

- Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to advanced clinical practice.
- Evidence of leadership and management development.
- Evidence of maintaining prescribing competence and medicines management knowledge
- Participation in clinical audit, quality improvement or service evaluation activities.

Previous Experience
Essential
- Significant experience as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner within urgent care, primary care, community or equivalent healthcare setting
- Experience of providing autonomous assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of patients presenting with minor illness and/or urgent care needs.
- Experience of leading and managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience of workforce management including recruitment, appraisal, supervision and performance management.
- Experience of clinical governance, risk management and patient safety processes.
- Experience of leading quality improvement, service development or transformation initiatives.
- Experience of medicines management, prescribing governance and medication safety.
- Experience of analysing performance data and implementing improvement plans.
- Experience of supporting Advanced Clinical Practitioners, trainee ACPs or other clinicians through supervision and development.
Desirable
- Experience of budget management and resource planning.
Knowledge, skills and abilities
Essential
- Expert knowledge and skills in advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis and management.
- Sound knowledge of urgent care pathways, national standards and relevant clinical guidance.
- Comprehensive understanding of clinical governance, risk management and patient safety frameworks
- Knowledge of medicines legislation, prescribing governance and medicines optimisation principles.
- Knowledge of safeguarding adults and children and associated statutory responsibilities
- Ability to provide professional and clinical leadership across multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to lead change, innovation and service improvement programmes.
- Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to analyse complex information, make decisions and solve problems effectively.
- Ability to prioritise workload, manage competing demands and achieve objectives within agreed timescales.
Desirable
- Knowledge of workforce planning, staff development and succession planning principles.
- Understanding of research methodologies and implementation of evidence-based practice.
