Perform a wide range of MRI or CT examinations in accordance with departmental protocols and best practice guidelines.

Work flexibly across TIC Health imaging sites, travelling to locations to support operational needs and ensure service continuity.

Ensure all imaging examinations are conducted safely and in compliance with IR(ME)R regulations and radiation safety standards.

This role is fundamental to the delivery of high-quality diagnostic imaging services across TIC Health sites. The post holder will provide safe, effective, and patient-centred imaging by performing MRI and CT examinations in accordance with national standards, departmental protocols, and regulatory requirements.

Perform a wide range of MRI and CT examinations in accordance with departmental protocols and best practice guidelines.

We are looking for candidates who can work flexibly across TIC Health imaging sites, Milton Keynes, Reading, Romford, Solihull, Edgware and Rochdale, travelling to locations to support operational needs and ensure service continuity. - Please state in your application which locations you are able to travel to.

Ensure all imaging examinations are conducted safely and in compliance with IR(ME)R regulations and radiation safety standards.

Prepare and position patients appropriately for MRI and CT procedures while ensuring patient comfort, dignity, and safety.

Screen patients for MRI safety and contraindications, ensuring appropriate safety procedures are followed at all times.

Assess imaging referrals to ensure examinations are appropriate and justified prior to scanning.

Produce high-quality diagnostic images suitable for clinical reporting.

Recognise and escalate urgent or unexpected findings in line with departmental escalation procedures.

Communicate clearly with patients, explaining procedures and providing reassurance where necessary.

Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation using RIS/PACS systems.

Ensure imaging equipment is operated safely and maintained in accordance with manufacturer guidance and quality assurance standards.

Participate in quality assurance, audits, and service improvement initiatives.

Support colleagues and contribute to a collaborative team environment across all sites.

Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control policies and maintain a safe clinical environment.

Professional Responsibilities

Maintain registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Adhere to the HCPC Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.

Ensure compliance with IR(ME)R regulations, radiation protection guidelines, and MRI safety standards.

Engage in continuous professional development (CPD) to maintain and enhance cross-sectional imaging competencies.

Report clinical or non-clinical incidents through the appropriate reporting systems.

Ensure the safety of patients, staff, and visitors across all TIC Health imaging locations.

Work collaboratively with radiologists, clinicians, and healthcare professionals to support efficient patient pathways.

Promote high standards of professional practice and patient care.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience performing CT and/or MRI examinations in a clinical imaging environment.
  • Ability to work as an autonomous practitioner while contributing to a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong clinical judgement and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills.
  • Experience using Radiology Information Systems (RIS), SEMBLE, CIMAR and PACS.
  • Ability to manage workload effectively and work flexibly across multiple sites.

Desirable

  • Experience working across multiple imaging sites or mobile imaging services.
  • Experience in advanced CT or MRI protocols.
  • Understanding of service audits, governance, and quality assurance processes.

Qualifications

Essential

  • BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

Desirable

  • Postgraduate qualification in MRI or CT.
  • IR(ME)R practitioner or operator entitlement.
  • MRI safety training.
