As the Unit Lead at Adderley Green, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership, guiding the nursing team to deliver high-quality care to individuals with neurological illnesses and complex dementia. Your role will include supervising the staff, managing ward budgets, and being the point of contact for both staff and patients. You will work alongside senior nursing staff to ensure an efficient on-call service and lead the team by example, promoting a positive, collaborative environment. Your leadership will aim to maximize the abilities of your team, ensuring high standards are maintained and improved within the Clinical Governance framework. In this role, you will utilize your experience in NHS or private care settings, applying your extensive knowledge to support a unified service and an engaged workforce. Your leadership will also encompass being an expert resource for nursing care of service users, actively participating in a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care.

What you will be doing

With experience from the NHS or private care, you will lead the nursing team provide high-quality care and support to people with neurological illnesses, while also supporting your colleagues and promoting good teamwork.

As Unit Lead, you will empower recovery and deliver supervision to staff across the ward to deliver great healthcare. You will work alongside the senior Nurse to manage the on-call service and manage the ward budgets, and lead by example, acting as a role model to all members of the nursing team, leading care teams and creating a positive learning environment that makes a difference and changes lives for the better. Other duties include:

  • Providing Clinical Leadership and expertise
  • Providing leadership and guidance to support a unified service and engaged workforce
  • Ensuring that high standards are in place, followed and improved in accordance within the Clinical Governance framework
  • Utilising and supervising all nursing staff effectively
  • Being an expert resource on Nursing care of service users within the specialism and hold a key role in the multidisciplinary team
  • Maintaining a positive and collaborative environment to allow ward members to reach their potential and maximum their ability to provide high-quality care, staff welfare and staff training
  • Designated to take charge of the ward

  • A relevant nursing qualification
  • NMC registration

Location: Dividy Road, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, ST2 0TN

You will be working at Adderley Green, which consists of two units. Moorcroft Manor is a specialist inpatient neurological rehabilitation and complex care service for people with neurological illnesses, acquired brain and spinal cord injuries, while Gladstone House is a specialist inpatient unit for people over 65 living with complex dementia.

Both units have extensive facilities catering for the specific needs of people aged over 18 years who have complex neurological care and rehabilitation requirements, and those who are above 65 and living with complex dementia.

You will working alongside a multidisciplinary team to deliver truly person-centred services where each individual is at the heart of everything.

Essential

  • A relevant nursing qualification is required, along with NMC registration. Candidates must demonstrate a positive attitude, natural compassion, commitment to high-quality care, and a proven track record of leadership skills. Experience in a similar environment is essential.
