Trust Specialty Registrar (ST3+) in Paediatrics

• Carry out his/her duties with full regard to the Trust's Equal Opportunities Policy.
• Co-operate fully with the implementation of the Trust's Health and Safety arrangements and report any accidents/incidents, defects with work equipment or inadequate safety arrangements.
• Co-operate fully with all policies and procedures relating to Infection Control.
• Accept individual responsibility for ensuring a suitable, clean, uncluttered and safe environment for members of the public, staff, patients/clients and their relatives.
• To use correctly work items provided by the Trust in accordance with training and instructions, including personal protective equipment.
• Comply with the Trust's Smoke Free Policy.

Essential

• NLS/APLS/PALS Course
• Minimum of 4 years in recognised Paediatric SHO/Registrar training post and 6 months experience in a Tertiary Neonatal unit Outpatient experience
• UK paediatric experience is essential
• Foundation programme completed or equivalent training

Desirable

• Middle grade NHS experience

• Able to work without direct supervision where appropriate, according to level or experience and awareness of own limitations
• Sound manual dexterity and competent routine practical procedures, as expected for experience.
• Clear Logical thinking/showing an analytical/scientific approach.
• Understanding of evidence informed practice
• Ability to organize oneself, to manage time and tasks and prioritise clinical need within limitations of experience.
• Experience and ability to work in multi - professional teams
• Familiar with current structure of health service and knowledgeable about recent initiatives and changes.
• Through understanding of principles of medical audits
• Evidence of participation in audit project

Desirable

• Some understanding of clinical risk management
• Appreciation of clinical governance issues

Essential

• MBBS or equivalent medical qualifications
• Full current GMC registration with a Licence to practice in the UK
