Job description

INTERNAL ONLY TO NORTH CUMBRIA INTEGRATED CARE NHS FOUNDATION TRUST (NCIC) EMPLOYEES ONLY An opportunity has arisen for a Trust Doctor (FY2 equivalent...

They will be responsible for seeing and assessing the acute referrals into that service, and initiating management plans. There will always be a registrar and consultant in each service on call (weekdays always available, at weekends may be in theatre but readily contactable).

The shifts when not assigned to carry the on call bleep the doctor will be expected to provide support to the FY1 doctors on the ward and attend the post-take ward round. They will then be timetabled to either attend clinic or theatre or undertaking quality improvement projects thus increasing the educational opportunities available to them. We are hoping to develop these posts in the next twelve months to deliver additional experience in General Surgery as well. This will therefore enable those in posts to gain more experience that will help further develop skills and experience to further their career.
