Job description

We are delighted to invite applications for the position of Band 8a Therapeutic Radiographer - Treatment Review Section Lead with a special interest i...

As Treatment Review Section Lead, you will provide clinical, professional, and operational leadership within our Treatment Review Service. Working closely with Consultant Clinical Oncologists and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will ensure patients undergoing radiotherapy receive expert assessment, advice, and compassionate support throughout their treatment journey.

The role includes a dedicated clinical commitment to supporting patients receiving radiotherapy for lymphoma, acting as a key point of contact and advocate to help optimise both patient experience and treatment outcomes.

In addition to your clinical responsibilities, you will lead, line manage, and professionally supervise a team of Advanced Therapeutic Radiography Review Practitioners, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. You will be responsible for supporting staff development, maintaining high standards of patient care, and driving service enhancements within the Treatment Review pathway.

As a member of the Radiotherapy senior management team, you will also contribute to the operational management, strategic direction, and ongoing development of the wider department. Working collaboratively with fellow section leads and senior colleagues, you will help shape service delivery, support departmental objectives, and ensure the provision of safe, effective, and patient-centred radiotherapy services.

The Radiotherapy Service serves a catchment population of approximately 1.6 million and is the provider of radiotherapy for the six London boroughs - Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark. The service also receives national referrals from St John's Skin Clinic, based at GSTFT, for patients requiring specialist skin radiotherapy, Total Skin Electron Body radiotherapy (TSEBT). The service also provides TBI and stereotactic radiotherapy, body and intracranial treatment, and radiotherapy for a very small number of private patients. The service delivers in excess of 52,000 radiotherapy treatments and works in closest collaboration with colleagues at King's College NHS Foundation Trust, Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust and Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust.
