Theatre Equipment Coordinator

Essential

• GCSE A-C or equivalent including Math's and English or Level 2 functional skills in Math's and English.
• NVQ Level 4 or equivalent.
• Educated to diploma level or equivalent relevant knowledge and experience, with evidence of ongoing professional development relevant to theatre operations, procurement, sterile services, stock control or healthcare equipment coordination

Essential

• Previous Experience working in an Operating Theatre.
• Previous experience working with or in a procurement team within an NHS Trust.
• Demonstrable experience of loan kit pathways, decontamination processes, supplier liaison, traceability requirements and patient safety escalation processes.
• Experience managing medical devices.
• Experience supporting audit, monitoring performance, producing reports, identifying trends and contributing to service improvement actions within a theatre, procurement, sterile services or healthcare equipment environment.

Desirable

• Experience managing stock and implants
• Experience liaising with clinical teams and suppliers.
• Experience coordinating surgical loan kits or specialist implants.

• Ability to use judgement and initiative to resolve complex operational problems, including conflicting theatre demands, incomplete loan sets, delayed deliveries, missing documentation, supplier queries, decontamination delays and financial discrepancies.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong Organisational skills.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook, with the ability to use them in a busy work environment.
• Ability to maintain accurate records, produce reports, monitor performance, information, and support audits, financial reconciliation and service quality improvement.

Desirable

• Have experience using electronic patient recording systems and/or scan for safety.
• Have experience using a system that tracks and monitors theatre instruments.

Essential

• Understanding of confidentially issues.
• Understanding of the Trust values.
• Theatre pathways, equipment tracking, and decontamination.
• Knowledge of NHS procurement processes, infection prevention principles, medical device and equipment traceability, information governance and financial controls relevant to specialist equipment, consumables and loan kit management.

• Have basic understanding about the delivery of healthcare in the UK and the healthcare needs of patients in a multiracial community.
