Job Title: Telephonist

Dept: Switchboard

Base: Maidstone Hospital

Grade: Band 2

Hours: Vacancy 1 18.75 hrs per week (mon - sat)

Vacancy 2 22.5hrs per week (mon - sat)

Vacancy 3 7.5hrs per week (Nights thur-fri)

These roles will include working within an established rota, and you will be expected to cover annual leave and sick leave when required and Bank Holidays where scheduled.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to a high standard in GCSE or equivalent

Desirable

  • NVQ level 2 in customer service or equivalent

Experience/Knowledge

Essential

  • Work independently without supervision
  • Working as part of a close team

Desirable

  • Previous switchboard experience in a hospital environment

Skills

Essential

  • Customer Care focused
  • IT Skills, eg; Basic computer knowledge
  • Good organisational skills

Desirable

  • Previous experience of dealing with emergency calls
