To be responsible for aspects of operational management.

Line Management and supervision of staff.

To provide clinical cover where appropriate.

To be able to assess and manage high-risk service users in a variety of settings, conduct risk assessments and formulate robust individualised and dynamic safety plans.

To be able to demonstrate the ability to make appropriate decisions under pressure taking into consideration the risks to service users, self and others and to be able to assess the often complex situations of these service users.

  • To deliver a service within the agreed financial envelope ensuring maximum value in termsof clinical and cost effectiveness.
  • Ensure that a culture of effective risk management is present in the team
  • To carry a clinical caseload as agreed with service manager and to take a lead onmanagement of complex cases and supporting staff in management of such cases.
  • To ensure that the team functions in line with the care group core business.
  • To coordinate recruitment and selection of staff within the team, leading on decisions asdesignated by the service manager.
  • To respond to SUIs as appropriate and support any subsequent investigation
  • To respond to complaints
  • To respond to communications regarding team issues
  • To ensure equality and diversity is considered in all aspects of the teams business.
  • At all times supporting the Trusts reputation and that of all senior colleagues, maintaining apositive attitude with strong commitment to results.
  • Deputises for Service Manager as and when required.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse or Social Worker
  • Evidence of CPD
  • Current Professional Registration (NMC, SWE)
  • Post Basic Courses / relevant Study Days

Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience of and demonstrable achievement in clinical practice
  • Experience of providing professional support/supervision and motivation of staff
  • Understanding of Health and Social Care Governance
  • Experience of managing staff
