Cygnet Group is looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic Support Worker (Days) to join our dedicated team at The Squirrels.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in people's lives every day. No two days are the same, and you'll play a vital role in helping the individuals we support live fulfilling, independent, and active lives both at The Squirrels and within the local community.

We are offering a 42-hour permanent contract, working 12-hour day shifts across a 7-day rota, including approximately two weekends per month.

Shift patterns vary, with some starting as early as 7:00 am and others finishing at 10:00 pm.

The Squirrels is a specialist residential service for adults with autism and learning disabilities, who may present with behaviours that challenge. We aim to provide a safe, comfortable and effective care environment for those in our care, promoting independence and community integration.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference and helping others live fulfilling, independent lives. While previous experience is valuable, we place just as much importance on your attitude, values, and commitment to person-centred support.

To thrive in this role, you'll have

  • Experience supporting adults with Autism and/or Learning Disabilities or working within a care setting.
  • An understanding of behaviours that may challenge, and a positive, proactive approach to support
  • A caring, compassionate, and enthusiastic attitude with a genuine desire to help others succeed
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues
  • A team-focused approach, with the ability to work collaboratively in a supportive environment
  • Flexibility and enthusiasm for supporting a variety of community activities, social events, and meaningful experiences
  • A commitment to promoting independence, choice, dignity, and wellbeing for the people we support

  • Individuals with autism and/or learning disabilities

  • Residents with communication challenges and complex needs
