Brooklyn Care Homes Ltd provides high-quality, person-centred care and support for six individuals with complex needs, including autism, PTSD, mental health needs and emotionally unstable personality disorder (EUPD).
We create a safe, supportive and empowering home where each person is treated with dignity, encouraged to make their own choices and supported to live a fulfilling life.
We are looking for compassionate, reliable people to join our team as Support Workers and Acting Senior Support Workers.
As a Support Worker, you will provide practical and emotional support tailored to each resident’s needs, preferences and goals. You will help residents develop their independence, take part in meaningful activities and maintain their wellbeing.
As an Acting Senior Support Worker, you will carry out these responsibilities while also leading shifts, supporting colleagues and helping ensure that care is delivered safely and consistently. You will work closely with management and provide clear guidance to the team.
- Deliver person-centred care in line with individual care plans and risk assessments.
- Support residents with personal care, including washing, dressing and toileting, where required.
- Encourage choice and independence in daily routines, household tasks and community activities.
- Support residents with appointments, outings, hobbies and social opportunities.
- Provide calm, compassionate emotional support.
- Support with medication, including administration where trained and assessed as competent.
- Assist with meal preparation and individual dietary needs.
- Recognise, record and report changes in residents’ physical or emotional wellbeing.
- Maintain accurate, timely and confidential care records.
- Follow safeguarding procedures and report concerns promptly.
- Respond calmly to behaviours that may challenge, using agreed support plans and training.
- Work positively with residents, families, colleagues and health and social care professionals.
- Help maintain a safe, welcoming and respectful home.
- Lead and coordinate shifts, allocating tasks according to residents’ needs.
- Guide and support colleagues, modelling good care practice.
- Ensure clear handovers and follow up on outstanding actions.
- Check that care records and medication documentation are completed accurately.
- Respond to incidents and concerns, taking appropriate action and escalating to management when required.
- Support new staff during their induction and help identify training needs.
- Help keep care plans and risk assessments up to date by sharing observations with management.
- Promote consistent standards of care and contribute to improvements within the home.
- A compassionate, patient and respectful approach.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliability and the ability to use initiative.
- A commitment to dignity, choice and person-centred care.
- Willingness to complete training and attend supervision.
- A full driving licence.
For Support Workers
Previous care experience is welcome but is not essential. Full training will be provided.

- Paid holiday and a pension scheme.
- Employee mental health support.
