The Respiratory Department is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to provide administrative support for the Respiratory department....

  • To provide a comprehensive secretarial and administrative service to the triage team within the Respiratory department
  • To support secretarial and administrative colleagues in meeting departmental objectives.

Skills

Essential

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • An ability to communicate with people at all levels
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to use transcription equipment

Qualifications

Essential

  • RSA II or equivalent

Desirable

  • Qualification in medical secretarial studies
  • Possession of ECDL qualification

Knowledge

Essential

  • Good all round secretarial knowledge of all office practice and procedures
  • A good understanding of Microsoft Office and Outlook, audio typing experience (RSA II or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the Trust's current Information Technology systems (e.g. Medisec, Patient Centre, EPR, G2 dictation)

Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience in a hospital setting or similar

Desirable

  • Previous experience working in the Trust in similar role
  • Experienced in the use of Excel
