  • Work within a24-hour, 7-day theatre service, participating innight shifts,weekend rotas, andbank holiday coverage.

Service: MultiSpeciality Theatres | 24/7 Service Provision (Including Nights, Weekends & Bank Holidays)

UHD are investing, developing and transforming Trust services in line with the New Hospital Programme. As part of this, some services will move site this year. permanently. Recruiting Managers will be happy to answer any service-specific questions at interview.

This service has a planned move from April 2027 moving all elective to a single site and emergency, paediatrics and major surgery to the RBH site

If a role or service relocates as part of a planned move, excess mileage will not be reimbursed. Travel from home to the new work base will be classed as a normal commute. Any other changes will be managed under Trust or national terms and conditions.

Qualifications

Essential

  • NMC registered Nurse (Advanced Diploma/Degree in Adult Health Nursing) or . HCPC registered ODP (Dip (HE) Operating Department Practice)

Technical skills

Essential

  • Able to work unsupervised and on own initiative . Able to integrate and work within the MDT . Supportive of staff/team members

Desirable

  • able to communicate effectively in an MDT

Other requirements

Essential

  • Flexible working pattern to meet demands of the service . Adaptive to unpredictable workloads.
  • able to work 24/7

Desirable

  • Prioritisation skills

Personal attributes

Essential

  • Highly motivated . Patient focussed . Professional approach . Effective role model . Flexible to the needs of the service . Recognises stress in self and others and manages appropriately

Desirable

Experience

  • Experience of caring for patients with acute and long term conditions

  • Experience in Scrub, Anaesthetics or PACU

Knowledge

  • Understanding of the surgical patient pathway through the hospital

  • Conversant with WHO safety checklist
