Staff Nurse in Surgical Unit - Band 5 (Fixed Term)

The role of a Staff Nurse is to support in the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of high quality nursing care. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the staff nurse will ensure patients receive the highest level of care, delivered using a holistic, patient-focused approach, while ensuring high standards of documentation are maintained.

The successful applicant will possess excellent communication skills, team working skills and some knowledge of surgical procedures to join our busy unit. We will support your development in the post through excellent training opportunities, personal development planning and ongoing support.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for permanent Staff Nurses to join our nursing team within the surgical unit on Ward 5, Surgical Day Case Unit and Surgical Treatment Unit on either a full or part time basis. Our Surgical unit consists of 3 areas specialising in the care of patients undergoing both elective and non-elective surgical procedures. Our specialities include:

Qualifications

Essential: - Registered Nurse (Nursing and Midwifery Council NMC); - Understanding of NMC Code, safeguarding and consent; working knowledge of NHS values and standards

Desirable: - Post-registration course relevant to clinical area
