Under the supervision of the Nurse in Charge, the post holder will be responsible for delivering safe, effective and evidence-based nursing care to critically ill patients across Levels 1-3.
The role involves monitoring, assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating individualised patient care, working in partnership with patients, their families and the wider multidisciplinary team.
The post holder will safely and competently manage complex monitoring equipment, intravenous infusions and ventilatory support systems, ensuring high standards of clinical practice are maintained at all times.
As an integral member of the critical care team, the post holder will be accountable for the organisation, coordination and delivery of nursing care for patients allocated to them, contributing to the overall effectiveness and quality of care within the unit.

Qualifications
Essential
- RGN level 1 or level 2
- Current NMC registration
Desirable
- Mentorship qualification
- I.V training
Experience
Essential
- Relevant post-registration experience
- One or more years of working experience in an UK hospital setting
Desirable
- HDU / ICU experience
- Working with multi-disciplinary teams
- Critical care module.
Skills
Essential
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to manage difficult / stressful situations
- Self motivated and uses own initiative
