Speech and Language Therapist

Working with young adults aged 16+ with learning disabilities, autism and complex communication needs, you'll play a vital role in helping students develop the communication, independence and life skills they need to thrive beyond education. As a Speech and Language Therapist, you'll work within a supportive multidisciplinary team delivering creative, person-centred therapy that makes a lasting difference. Your responsibilities:

Assessing communication, eating and drinking needs using formal and informal assessments.Managing your own clinical caseload independently.Delivering both universal and individual Speech and Language Therapy interventions.Supporting students through Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).Coaching, mentoring and training teaching and support staff.Working closely with families, schools, employers and external professionals to ensure successful transitions.Promoting independence, inclusion and positive outcomes for every learner. You'll have:

A degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).HCPC registration.Eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.Experience supporting young people with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs.Experience with communication assessments, AAC and eating and drinking.
