1. The Specialty doctors are required to perform clinical work in the Emergency Department, as the first doctor to see patients with the range of problems that present to a busy Emergency Department.
2. The successful applicants will be expected to manage areas, support junior staff and contribute to the smooth running of the department, as required.
3. They will be required to participate in audit and encouraged to take on clinical research or quality improvement projects depending on the interests of the successful applicant(s). There will be an opportunity to present the results in the Emergency Department, and assistance is given with the preparation and submission of work for publication.

St George's University Hospital serves a population of 1.3 million across South West London and is part of GESH; St George's, Epsom and St Helier Hospital Group. A large number of services such as cardiothoracics, pelvic trauma, neurosciences and renal transplant also cover significant populations across the South East of England.
St George's is the designated heart attack centre, hyper-acute stroke unit and Major Trauma centre of South West London.
As well as acute hospital services, we provide a wide range of specialist care and community services to patients of all ages.
Our main site, St George's Hospital in Tooting; one of the country's principal teaching hospitals, is shared with City St George's University of London, which trains medical students and other healthcare professionals and also carries out advanced medical research
