Education / Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC

Desirable

  • Relevant post graduate courses/training/CPD
  • Member of relevant special interest group

Knowledge

Essential

  • Knowledge/understanding of confidentiality issues
  • Knowledge of physiotherapy best practise for a range of Pelvic, Obstetric and Gynaecological Physiotherapy conditions
  • Awareness of clinical audit and evidence-based practice.
  • Knowledge of appropriate red flags for these specialist patient groups
  • Knowledge of principles of Risk Management
  • Awareness of NHS and Trust systems, policies, procedures and current changes

Desirable

  • Knowledge of current professional and NHS issues
  • Awareness of impact of socioeconomic factors on health
  • Knowledge of appraisal cycle

Experience

Essential

  • Broad general clinical experience
  • Experience managing a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions
  • Maintaining relevant range of CPD activities

Desirable

  • Experience of working within a diverse socioeconomic/multicultural society.
  • Experience of working in different health care environments

Skills/ Abilities

Essential

  • Able to manage caseload and to prioritise under pressure.
  • Able to demonstrate effective written & verbal communication skills
  • Able to work within an MDT.
  • Able to assess and implement appropriate treatment for a range of patients.
  • Good IT skills

Desirable

  • Supervision/appraisal (PTA,St,Physio)
  • Presentation skills
