Specialist Occupational Therapist/ Band 6

To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of clinical work and care.

To maintain high standards of care in all areas of practice in accordance with the HCPC Code of Conduct, professional guidelines and Trust Policies and Procedures.

To act within the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act (2005).

To be aware of and implement Safeguarding Adult and Child Protection Policies, Procedures and legislation.

To act as practice assessor/supervisor/teacher in teaching, facilitating and supporting pre-registration students and junior personnel and to participate in the audit of educational placements, . To participate in new staff induction

To engage in your own CPD and to ensure that you have the knowledge and skills to deliver high quality occupational therapy assessments and interventions.

To share your knowledge and skills within the team to support others learning

To document assessments, interventions, evaluations and progress notes in a clear, timely and professional manner, in line with Trust policy

To actively engage in your own and others supervision and appraisal.

To ensure confidentially in line with the Trusts policies and procedures

To represent the profession in the multidisciplinary team

To contribute to a healthy and safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations and Trust policies.

To contribute to conducting clinical audit quality assurance and research maintaining current knowledge of research finding and development within specific care group.

To advocate and promote the profession within the directorate.

To plan deliver and implement service development and audits.

To contribute to the mentoring of the wider team.

To represent the profession in the multidisciplinary team.

To support the delivery of continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities within services and directorates

To provide clinical placements for occupational therapy students.

To contribute to the development and implementation of appropriate policies, protocols and care pathways pathways including coproduction

To lead on project work relevant to the team/service, with support from the Lead Occupational Therapist.

To assist in appropriate staff recruitment and induction and contribute to the wider strategic plans regarding occupational therapy recruitment.

To assist in induction of new staff and promote SLT as a career option

To contribute to staff recruitment .
