This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced dermatology nurse to play a key role in delivering and shaping specialist services for patients across the pathway. You will use your expertise to provide holistic support, influence positive patient outcomes and help drive service excellence through clinical leadership, innovation and continuous improvement. Alongside direct patient care, you will contribute to developing colleagues, enhancing patient experience and supporting the future direction of the service.

We are looking for a motivated and compassionate professional with specialist dermatology experience, excellent communication skills and the confidence to work autonomously. You will be a proactive problem-solver who can make complex clinical decisions, build effective relationships with patients and colleagues, and adapt to changing priorities within a busy environment. A commitment to lifelong learning, quality improvement and supporting others to develop is essential.

Registration

Essential

  • Current NMC registration - first level nurse

Experience

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience at Band 5 staff nurse level within Dermatology OR transferable skills such as a non medical prescriber
  • Evidence of involvement in policy and practice change
  • Evidence of running nurse led clinics, making clinical decisions and providing education to patients
  • Must be able to demonstrate leadership, vision, strategic thinking and planning
  • Evidence of providing learning and development to other professionals in own work area and other clinical areas
  • Working as part of a team

Knowledge

Essential

  • Demonstrates specialist knowledge underpinned by theory acquired through CPD
  • Knowledge of prescribing/PGDs

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree in Nursing
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.

Desirable

  • Non-medical prescribing qualification
  • Post basic qualification in speciality
