Specialist Clinician: Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NDD) Pathway

• - Deliver specialist diagnostic assessments for children and young people with suspected neurodevelopmental conditions (Autism and ADHD) across Milton Keynes.
• Take detailed developmental case histories from parents and carers, administer tools such as the ADOS (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule), and contribute to multidisciplinary diagnostic decisions and feedback sessions.
• Build close working relationships with local educational staff, class teachers, SENDCOs, learning support assistants, educational/clinical psychologists, inclusive intervention teams, specialist teaching services, special needs officers, GPs, and paediatricians within Milton Keynes.
• Maintain robust clinical governance, keeping comprehensive records on SystmOne and prioritising the safeguarding of vulnerable children and young people under local Milton Keynes and London safeguarding procedures and frameworks.
• Supervise team members, therapy assistants, or students, and actively contribute to service development, audits, and Quality Improvement (QI) projects

• Supervise team members, therapy assistants, or students, and actively contribute to service development, audits, and Quality Improvement (QI) projects

Essential

• Recognised professional degree qualification such as Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, CAMHS clinician or equivalent (minimum of 2:2 or equivalent)
• Registered member of an appropriate regulatory body such as the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

Desirable

• Honours degree or equivalent
• Some additional training relevant to the post
• Attendance at relevant special interest group/ clinical excellence group
• Registered member of appropriate professional body such as the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists RCOT or British Psychological Society.

Essential

• Appropriate experience of working in a professional role with children and young people with neurodevelopomental disorders such as autism or ADHD.
• Experience of working with children and young people with physical, learning and multi sensory needs
• Experience of delivering assessments and intervention to children with neurodiversity.
• Experience of contributing to projects to improve/develop services
