Knowledge Requirements
Essential
- Well developed communication skills and time management
- Effective organisational abilities
- SACT Passport completed
- First level degree, or equivalent knowledge, in related subject
- Significant relevant post registration experience in specialist area
- Evidence of teaching experience, either formally or in informal settings
Qualifications
Essential
- First Level Registered Nurse
- Chemotherapy administration (Min 6 months)
- Blood transfusion administration
Desirable
- Teaching qualification
Further Training
Essential
- Willingness to undertake further training as required by the speciality
Desirable
- Supporting students
Experience
Essential
- Understanding and knowledge of specialist area
- Cannulation and venepuncture
- Post registration experience in a clinical setting
- Experience as shift co-ordinator
Desirable
- Experience of working within surgical and medical day case, preferably with knowledge of haematology/oncology
- IT skills
