Joining Elysium Healthcare as a Social Worker means becoming part of a team that values and acknowledges your contributions. Based at Thornford Park in Thatcham, you will help individuals on their recovery journey, fostering the development of new skills and brighter futures. As part of a multidisciplinary team, your responsibilities will include managing and supporting forensic service users with mental health issues, conducting assessments, crafting CPA reports, attending Mental Health Tribunals, and overseeing hearings. You will also supervise junior staff. In a senior capacity, you will drive child and adult safeguarding initiatives and encourage service users to actively engage in their care plans. The role involves collaborating with external agencies to ensure statutory duties are met and providing support to carers and families of detained patients. Working alongside the multidisciplinary team, you will manage and support a caseload of forensic service users with mental health conditions. You will be responsible for assessments, CPA reports, Mental Health Tribunals, Managers Hearings and will be requested to supervise junior staff members. As a senior member of the team, you will lead and promote child and adult safeguarding and will empower recovery to encourage service users to engage in their care plans and achieve their goals. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be supported regionally and will have access to a variety of training and online courses to support your career development and growth. Other responsibilities include:
- Lead the multidisciplinary teams on non-medical mental capacity issues and best interest decisions
- Liaising with external agencies to enable them to fulfill their statutory duties, for example: MAPPA, Local Authority Social Services, Police and Probation
- Supporting carers and families of detained patients
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A Social Work qualification
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Have a good working knowledge of the relevant legislation
- Have experience of working in a similar environment

Thornford Park offers a seamless integral pathway supporting and empowering service users in their recovery and rehabilitation. The medium, low secure and rehabilitation wards, as well as a psychiatric intensive care units (PICUs) are all set within 21 acres in the Berkshire countryside.
