Cheshire West and Chester Council is a place where everyone can Thrive – through our core values of Teamwork, Honesty, Respect, Innovation, Value for Money and Empowerment.
This is an opportunity to join a service that is committed to delivering high-quality practice and achieving the best possible outcomes for children, young people and families. Whether you join our Family Help, Family Help Safeguarding or Permanency Teams, you will play a key role in supporting children through some of the most important moments of their lives.
We know that social work is about more than processes and administration. It is about building trusting relationships, understanding lived experiences and helping families create sustainable change. We are looking for social workers who genuinely care, who are motivated by making a difference and who want to be part of a team that shares those values.
Through the Families First Partnership Programme, we are transforming the way services are delivered, creating stronger links between early help, safeguarding and partner agencies to provide coordinated support to families when they need it most.
- Practice is child-centred and relationship-based.
- Managers are visible, supportive and approachable.
- Supervision is meaningful and reflective.
- Professional development is actively encouraged.
- Staff are trusted and empowered to make a difference.
We have embraced AI innovation through Magic Notes, helping practitioners spend more time with children and families and less time on administration. This investment reflects our commitment to creating the conditions for social workers to do what they do best.
Many of our senior social workers, managers and leaders have progressed internally and we are proud of the opportunities available for those looking to further their careers.
- Flexible hybrid working
- Strong management support
- High-quality supervision
- Extensive learning and development opportunities
- Trauma-informed and systemic practice model
- Bright modern offices across the borough
- Free parking
- Social Work England registration paid
- Up to 16 days flexi leave in addition to annual leave
